The important bit
It reads your sessions before it answers
There is a large difference between an assistant that knows about training in general and one that knows about yours. The first can tell you what progressive overload is. Only the second can tell you whether you've been doing it.
Questions here go through a tool that retrieves your matching sessions in date order and hands them over before anything is written. The answer is built from those rows — so when it says your bench has stalled, it is reporting the sessions rather than guessing from the fact that most benches stall eventually.
What you can scope
One movement, or the whole programme
Name an exercise and you get that movement's history. Leave it out and you get the overall picture instead — how often you trained, how much work you did, and where it went.
- Any single movement, matched loosely so you needn't type it exactly
- The whole programme, when you don't have a specific lift in mind
- Last month, three months, six months, or everything
- Windows compared against the equal stretch immediately before
What it won't do
It isn't a coach and doesn't pretend to be
It can't see your technique, doesn't know how you slept, and has no view on whether the programme you're running suits your goals. Anything it says about form is generic, and it will tell you so.
What it does have is every set you've logged and no incentive to be encouraging about it. If a lift has gone nowhere in three months, the honest answer is the useful one, and that's the answer you'll get.
Things you can ask
- How am I progressing on bench press?
- Records, trend, volume, and the sessions behind each.
- Is my squat actually moving or am I just adding sets?
- Separates load progression from volume accumulation.
- What have I neglected in the last month?
- Where the work went, and what got little of it.
- How does this quarter compare to the last one?
- Equal windows, so the comparison means something.
- What should I try next on deadlift?
- A suggestion built on your history, not a generic template.
Questions
Is it answering from my data or making it up?
From your data. The assistant has a tool that pulls your actual exercise history — every matching session, in order — and answers from what comes back. It isn't recalling a general claim about training and dressing it as advice.
Can I ask about my whole programme, not one lift?
Yes. Leave the exercise out and you get an overall summary instead: sessions, volume, what you've trained and what you've neglected.
Can I scope it to a period?
Yes — the last month, three months, six months, or your whole history. On the insights page every figure is also compared against the equal stretch of time immediately before it, so a percentage always has a denominator.
Will it tell me my programme is bad?
It will tell you what your log shows. If you've trained chest six times and legs once this month, it says so. It's reading your training, not grading it against a template, and it can't see your technique.
Is this the same thing as the charts?
Same data, different question. The charts show you the shape; the assistant answers a specific question about it, including ones a chart can't — like whether a lift moved because you added load or because you added sets.
Can I use it from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. The same analysis tool is exposed over MCP, so a connected assistant can answer questions about your training without you opening the app.
Ask it something you can't answer yourself.
Your log probably already knows.
